Youth Ministry

Teens are confronted with decisions at every corner:

Is Jesus my God, or just my parents' God? Is the Bible true? What should I do with my life? What is my purpose?

Our middle and high school classes are places where students can have fellowship around God's word and find answers to all of life's questions with brothers, sisters, and counselors who will love them no matter what.

Dear Parents & Students,

The youth at Midtown Baptist Temple are some of our most cherished and beloved members in our church. We believe that they are not only the future of our local church and the kingdom of God advancing, but we also believe they are presently able ministers of the gospel. Our youth come from different places in the KC Metro and from different walks of life, but our church body strives together for one thing in these students' lives: fostering relationships between them and the Lord Jesus Christ.

As we all know, the life of a student today is a complex and often confusing one. The counselors, parents, and pastors at MBT know this and strive to support and encourage all of our students through the trials of their faith and to charge and challenge them to stand in that faith in the midst of a perverse and crooked world. Our church knows that the world wants to capture the hearts and minds of every student, so we are praying, laboring in love, and trusting God for His Word, His Spirit, and His Church to lead the students to a victorious Christian experience. We believe that every student is capable of being victorious over their circumstances, over the world, and over the confusion of the teenage years. That victory, we know, happens in Christ.

The Junior High class focuses on forming meaningful relationships with middle schoolers as many of them begin to encounter major life transitions for the first time. As they begin to ask the big questions and are faced with increasingly challenging temptations, our hope is to meet students where they are and encourage them in owning their relationship with Christ. Using God’s word as a lamp to our feet, we aim to help students identify how to grow strong in their identity in Christ, and discover how to navigate the life that God has called us all to as disciples. We provide space for students from all over the metro area to connect and grow together in faith. Our time together consists of fellowship, worship, teaching, small groups, as well as Bible studies on 2nd Fridays and 4th Friday hangouts each month.
